Interactive collectibles tradeable online are a new frontier for the blockchain industry. As these unique items come to market, WSOP is looking to create an exclusive collection of poker cards. These NFTs will be sold at auction in 2019 and accompanied by their own story line that takes readers through each hand played during the game’s history.
WAX, the world’s leading carbon-neutral blockchain, has teamed up with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) to create some of the world’s most valuable Texas hold’em memorabilia.
Since its start in 1970, the World Series of Poker has grown to be one of the most prominent gaming events on the planet, inspiring non-exercise types all around the world. This popularity has now spread to the NFT world, with WSOP teaming up with WAX to create some ultra-rare 1 of 1 digital memorabilia.
Starting on November 17 at 1 p.m. ET, six auctions will take place in total, with new auctions occurring every Monday and Wednesday through December 6. Overall, the six NFTs include legendary moments from some of the WSOP’s most incredible tournaments, when the ultimate victors walked away with millions of dollars in prize money. Collectors now have the opportunity to own a piece of poker history.
Each NFT’s “Gallery of Champion Moments” has excellent video footage of some of the greatest poker players of all time, including Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Scotty Nguyen, and others. Furthermore, Chris Moneymaker’s main event title triumph from 2003 kicks off the entire thing.
To participate, interested individuals must first build a WAX wallet with $WAXP before bidding on these poker-related desirables. Each bid will rise in ten percent increments, with the highest bidder winning at the conclusion of the auction.
