Tomorrowland is a popular music festival held in Boom, Belgium. This year’s event will not only be the first-ever NFT Music Festival but also the world’s biggest use case for blockchain beyond cryptocurrency.
With the first-ever music festival featuring non-fungible tokens, Tomorrowland is set to be a definitive test for whether or not digital goods can really reshape how we experience live entertainment.
The “music nfts” is a new type of music that is being released on the blockchain. Tomorrowland 2022 will be hosting the first-ever NFT Music Artist.
Tomorrowland, a global pilgrimage destination for dance music fans, is slated to welcome the first-ever performance by an NFT music artist. Ape Rave Club (ARC) will play on Tomorrowland’s Mainstage, one of the largest dance platforms in the world.
The digital primate, who is a member of the prestigious Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), will perform on the Tomorrowland Mainstage during Weekend 2 of the festival on July 22nd-24th. ARC will play their immersive digital-come-real-world show in front of a crowd of 600,000+ people, with fellow NFT aficionado Steve Aoki, as well as other well-known dance artists like Martin Garrix, Alesso, Tiesto, Marshmello, Armin van Buuren, and others.
ARC will also distribute crypto tokens to fans as part of a project that will leverage blockchain technology to further change the music business. Fans will be able to vote on key choices during ARC’s musical journey.
As a result, and in keeping with the underlying spirit of many Web3 initiatives, the community is given power, while record companies (if signed to one) are stripped of their authority. The program will also see the introduction of ARC NFTs, which will contain real-world, one-of-a-kind, and limitless ways for fans to participate.
The music that will be played during ARC’s performance is still unknown, however the artist will release fan-influenced material on all standard streaming channels.
