Hello Sunshine, a film by Reese Witherspoon, has teamed up with Realm of Women (WoW), an NFT collective dedicated to breaking down barriers in the male-dominated world of crypto currency while supporting diversity and equality. World of Women debuted in July 2021 with 10,000 female-created artworks, fast becoming one of the most popular and successful non-fungible token providers.

Hello Sunshine will expand the World of Women character world and brand into entertainment products such as feature films, scripted and unscripted TV shows as part of the deal. The move is another another indication of NFTs’ rising appeal and the value they may provide to conventional media organizations on the hunt for intellectual property.

In cooperation with other various women-led NFT initiatives, they will also launch a Hello Sunshine x World of Women live event. The purpose is to inform women about this new environment.

“While the crypto and NFT world is mostly controlled by males,” said Witherspoon, “amazing leaders like World of Women are developing fantastic networks for women throughout this major change in media and technology.” “We’re excited to work with World of Warcraft to extend their world of characters and create new scripted and unscripted content.” We’re excited to collaborate with Hello Sunshine on adapting WoW art into meaningful tales, and we’re looking forward to connecting with the incredible WoW community at every stage of our cooperation.”

The move isn’t entirely unexpected. Witherspoon has been vocal about her support for World of Women’s purpose, including using an NFT from World of Women’s collection as her profile photo. She’s also been promoting the metaverse, digital art, and cryptocurrency via her social media presence.

World of Women and Hello Sunshine have a similar aim. Both businesses are run by women, and they make a point of encouraging female artists and writers. Hello Sunshine created “The Morning Show” for Apple TV, which includes Olivia Newman’s version of Delia Owens’ “Where the Crawdads Sing” and Aline Brosh McKenna’s “Your Place or Mine.” In August, Witherspoon sold a controlling ownership in Hello Sunshine to Candle Media, which is managed by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, two former Disney executives.

The second NFT collection from World of Women will be launched in 2022. According to Vanity Fair, the company’s NFTs are now worth six figures and have produced more than $120 million in trade. Guy Oseary, a manager and tech investor whose clients include Madonna and U2, as well as the Bored Ape Yacht Club, another NFT creation, represents the group.

“We feel Hello Sunshine can play an important part in influencing the narrative for women in the NFT arena,” said Yam Karkai, co-founder and artist for World of Women. “As an artist, this is uncharted ground for me, and I couldn’t have asked for a greater partner to help us spread our wonderful community’s ethos fundamental values via storytelling in new and inventive ways.”
