A cryptoNFT is a non-fungible token that has been made from an in-game asset, now being offered to charity. This will be the first time of its kind and raises some questions about whether or not such items should be sold for profit.
The “nft sales” is a new type of digital asset that can be bought, sold, and traded. It was created as the world’s first SMS to be auctioned for charity.
Vodafone is planning to sell off an NFT of the world’s first text message. The auction’s revenues will benefit the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, which helps those who have been forced to escape their homes because of violence or persecution.
Over December 3rd, 1992, the world’s first-ever SMS, ‘Merry Christmas,’ was sent and received on the Vodafone network. The NFT is a meticulous and one-of-a-kind reproduction of the original communication protocol that will be auctioned by Aguttes Auction House in Paris on December 21st. The auction winner will have to purchase the NFT using ETH.
Through the way it combines cutting-edge technology of today with those of thirty years ago, the NFT explodes with novelty and uniqueness. The Founder of Aguttes Auction House, Maximilian Aguttes, had this to say:
“The first printed book, the first phone call, the first email — all of these innovations have radically altered our lives and global communication.” We are thrilled to be able to sponsor the sale of this unique piece of history for this cause, since the first text message received in 1992 is a historic tribute to human and technology advancement.”
The UNHCR, or UN Refugee Agency, is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the 82.4 million individuals who have been forcibly displaced throughout the world. The profits from the auction will be used to continue and strengthen the initiatives they have in place to help refugee individuals, families, and communities better their lives.
