The “limewire download” is a new platform for the sale of NFTs. It has been officially announced that the platform will be going live on the 19th of September.
LimeWire has opened its NFT marketplace, after the announcement of the revival of Web3 in March and the signing of a lucrative contract with Universal Music Group.
According to its release, the marketplace will act as a one-stop shop where music lovers can purchase digital artifacts that have been chosen by their favorite performers. By purchasing an NFT on the platform, fans will have the chance to interact with unique music, visual artworks, backstage access, and other in-person events.
A star-studded lineup of musicians, including Travis Barker, Nicky Jam, Brandy, Aitch, Dillon Francis, 7 Aurelius, Elijah Blake, and others, will release NFTs on the platform to commemorate the debut. While Brandy’s NFT is described as a collaborative floral arrangement NFT with accompanying spoken word, Travis Barker’s NFT is an actual drum set.
The platform as a whole will also sell 10,000 “Originals” NFTs, which provide owners access to invite-only events, token awards, and first notice of NFT drops in addition to artist-centric collectibles. Users on the queue will begin to mint the collection gradually.
The platform will enable credit card payments and cover the gas price for each transaction to appeal to a wider audience.
